The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) Project aims to minimize, and avoid where possible, any negative impacts related to the construction and operation of the Project by implementing an effective and sustainable Community Relations Management System.
All activities are carried out to this end in accordance with national laws and regulations, as well as the international standards and best practices applicable to the international natural gas sector.
In this context, the TANAP Project is committed to implementation of the following:
All necessary efforts are made to establish an open dialogue, and good and lasting relations with the people living in settlements directly or indirectly affected by the TANAP Project.
Potential social impacts of the Project during operation activities are assessed and managed in line with the Project requirements. Accordingly, the public and other stakeholders affected by the Project are kept informed, their expectations, complaints and concerns are heard, and open consultations are held with the relevant parties. The Community Relations Management System and Grievance Management System being implemented are updated in line with the operational requirements to ensure their sustainability.
All employees of TANAP (including employees of its contractors) are provided with awareness-raising training on the TANAP Social Policy, and it is ensured that they carry out their works in accordance with this policy.
All TANAP employees are responsible, both individually and collectively, for ensuring compliance with this Social Policy, and for the effective implementation of the commitments and principles therein.
